About Me:
I’m an ecologist, particularly interested in forests and peatlands (e.g. bogs and swamps), and how people interact with them. I’m currently working on peatlands in the jungles of the Amazon (in Peru), but have worked on many different conservation-related projects across the Tropics and elsewhere.

My Typical Day:
I start my day with a jog along a beach, or up a hill, or through some fields, adding in a quick dip in the sea if I can. Then off to work. I try to set myself some goals each day and plan my time so that I can achieve them (in theory!). Then I finish each day by thinking about three things I’m grateful for, and share them with a close friend.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I’d take all of the children who’ve never been into a forest, into one, and then to the beach.
