• Question: What types of things do you do to try and save the environment?

      A lot of my work surrounds making sure that controls are in place to prevent incidents on site that can cause damage to the environment. For example working with teams so that they can prevent a spill of chemicals, and that they have the right equipment in place. Another example would be testing the operations team to make sure they know how to react to an environmental incident on site. It means that I have to be constantly inspecting, auditing and keeping an eye out, as often little things can be massive signs of a incident taking place!

    The three Rs: Reduce, Re-use and Recycle.
    Use less water
    Use less power, turn off lights when i leave a room. Don’t have the A/C on when i leave the house. these are simple things. Don’t have a gas guzzling car, look at mileage on EPA.gov before you buy. I also did a lot of work on climate science and climate policy as a science attache for the British Foreign Office
